He is Misery and Mine!

Darkness:

Always creeping-

Never sleeping!

Why can’t anyone else see the horrors I’m keeping?

Secrets that naught come to light

Suffocate me with all their might.

Come on,

Come with me into the night!

Yes, I did see someone

Strolling down the street of my nightmares.

Watching him smile was quite a feast.

He hummed a little tune

As he skipped along

The grounds I dreamed of going once

With him by my side.

(Oh, he is misery and mine!)

The Pit

Trapped in a pit

Of Dark and Despair,

Can’t you see my end everywhere?

Oh, how I watch them climb

Higher and higher!

But a ledge is in the way;

A wall separating freedom and pain.

The only ones who are free

Lay in a pile of rotten flesh.

There is no love

In this place of demons.

Love only gets you sent here.

They think that because I grew up in this darkness

That I really don’t mind.

That I have no dreams,

No want for [a real] life.

I want out of this pit-

This hell I’m in!

My only friends

Are shadows and a man

Who protects me

And covers my back

As I make the perilous climb.

Up, up, up I go!

Here is my end

-The ledge-

In front of me.

As blood and darkness splashes and dyes the ground below,

It hits me:

“This is it.”

I mutter to myself.

I breathe in and jump!

Soaring

To either my death or salvation,

I know there’s no turning back.

My hands hit the stone,

And I grip tight.

I’m not willing to fall.

I’m going to fight!

I am of the Pit, but it will never own me.

Light is mine.

At last!
